UF Advancement is the engine that powers the university’s philanthropic core — pairing the passions of donors, champions, advocates, and alumni with UF’s priorities, initiatives, goals, and aspirations.
While fundraising is foundational to UF Advancement activities, the organization’s efforts transcend raising support to include deepening relationships with thought leaders who can guide the university and cultivating even higher ambitions for the future of UF. UF Advancement works collaboratively to catalyze private support for UF’s strategic priorities through an integrated model that serves the whole university — all of its colleges, institutes, departments, and centers — and promotes excellence, innovation, civility, community, and stewardship.
Additionally, UF Advancement directs the activities of the UF Foundation, a 501(c) (3) Direct Support Organization comprising a board of engaged and highly successful volunteers who are committed to promoting the university and increasing philanthropy. With the oversight of the board’s Finance Committee, the university’s $2.45B endowment is managed by the University of Florida Investment Corporation (UFICO). Together, UF Advancement, the UF Foundation, and UFICO set sound financial policies and strategically manage investments.
Fundraising Success
The University of Florida’s most recent capital campaign, Go Greater, raised $4.6B over eight years. At its conclusion in December 2022, Go Greater’s grand total was among the most ever raised at a public university, the largest in the history of the state of Florida, and the highest among SEC schools. Investments throughout the campaign helped grow the university’s endowment by $1.1B, provided funding for 847 new scholarships, established 159 new endowed faculty positions, and created 15 new teaching and learning centers.
The $4.6B raised in Go Greater far surpassed the $3B goal set when the campaign launched in 2014. The record amount also shattered UF’s four previous campaign totals: $1.7B in Florida Tomorrow (2005-2012), $851M in It’s Performance that Counts (1996-2001) and $392M in Embrace Excellence (1985-1991).

Over the last six years, giving to UF has met or surpassed $500M annually, which optimally positions the university for the next capital campaign.
